10th November 2015. I'd just got paid. Eighteen years old. The first thing I did was walk into The Gym Group on Jamaica Street in Glasgow and pay my first membership. A mate had looked at me and said I was quite skinny and it would probably help. That was enough for me. So I went.

I was 52kg.

For years after that I trained like it was the only thing that mattered. Filmed my lifts. Tracked everything. Showed up consistently. Did all the things you're supposed to do. And got almost nowhere. No coach. No real structure. Just effort and stubbornness going in the wrong direction for a long time.

Eleven years I've been at this now. The coaching side came later. A friend who was already a coach told me I was more than capable of doing it myself. I didn't believe him. Smiled, nodded, and carried on thinking it wasn't for me. Then one day I just stopped waiting until I felt ready.

Best decision I ever made.

I'm not a coach because I've always had it figured out. I'm a coach because I spent years not having it figured out and I know exactly what that feels like. The frustration of doing everything right and seeing nothing. The self doubt. The wondering if you're just not built for it.

My background is science. I wanted to be a doctor. Didn't get past the interview stage. At the time I was gutted. But it was a blessing in disguise. The drive to help people never went away. It just ended up here instead.

Do I need to train in person?
Nope. I coach online and in person. Most clients are fully online and it works just as well. If you want in person or hybrid we can make that work too.
I've been training for years. Is this still for me?
That's exactly who this is for. If you've been going to the gym consistently and you're not where you want to be, the training isn't the problem. The system is. That's what I fix.
Do I need to track my food?
Honestly, probably. Most people think they're eating well but they're guessing half their meals. We'll figure out what level of tracking works for you without making it miserable.
How quick will I see results?
Depends where you're starting. But if you've been spinning your wheels for a while you'll notice changes within a few weeks. Not because of anything magic. Just because someone's finally pointed your effort in the right direction.
What if I've got injuries or limitations?
Good. That's my thing. Dodgy shoulder, bad knee, old back injury. I've worked around all of it. Pain free progress isn't a bonus. It's the baseline.
